A Generous Bequest

The manuscript leaves and fragments showcased in this installation were collected by Roger S. Wieck (1952–2026). Wieck worked at the Morgan for more than three decades, joining the Department of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts in 1989 and serving as its head from 2015 to 2025. Throughout his tenure, he curated acclaimed exhibitions and authored influential publications that revealed his exceptional depth of knowledge, particularly in the field of late medieval manuscript illumination.
