ASL Tour: Art of Manga
Visitors from the D/deaf community are invited to explore Art of Manga on an American Sign Language (ASL) tour, led by a Deaf teaching artist. After a brief meet-and-greet, experience the powerful storytelling and draftsmanship of hand- and digitally drawn Japanese comics and graphic novels. Discover universes that may be familiar or supernatural, historical or futuristic, contemplative or action-packed. Connect with present-day topics and universal themes of coming of age, tapping into hidden strengths, and finding beauty in the ordinary. This tour is designed for the d/Deaf community in ASL only, without voice interpretation. If you are an ASL student, email access@brooklynmuseum.org for more information about ASL student tours for those at level 3 or above. Free; registration is required.
